San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown talked to Sky Sports ahead of their huge NFC Championship game against the New York Giants on Sunday, when they will battle it out for a place in Super Bowl XLVI.
27-year-old Brown has enjoyed a superb first full season as the starting cornerback for the 49ers, having started all 17 games so far as the team turned from 6-10 also-rans to divisional champions and on the verge of a surprising Super Bowl appearance.
Coach Jim Harbaugh has built a superb team in his first NFL season, and despite being written off almost all season they are among the last four standing – and they have home advantage as they play the red-hot New York Giants in Sunday’s NFC Championship game. After a shaky first quarter, Drew Brees finally started to heat up and play nearly perfect football throughout the second quarter. That is, until the first play after the two-minute warning. The San Fransisco 49ers appear to be preserving their lead. Read more here >>

If you want to find out what’s important to Tarell Brown, you don’t have to go far. A look at the ink on his skin will reveal the three people closest to his heart.
On his neck sits a tribute to his late father, Robert, and another memorial rests on his left shoulder for his late mother, Tonya. The back of Brown’s neck bears the name of his daughter, Takyla.
On Sundays, Takyla’s name floats between Brown’s helmet and the No. 25 jersey he’s been wearing for five years now. The rest of the week, Brown retreats to his locker at 49ers headquarters, one which features a 4 x 6 clipboard that’s literally overflowing with pictures of his daughter.

SANTA CLARA – Here’s the transcript of Tarell Brown’s locker room Q&A from this morning.
Q: What were your thoughts on the win?
BROWN: I haven’t watched the film yet but I feel we can improve in a lot of areas. We did a lot of good things but we can also get better.
Q: What was your reaction to the handshake?
BROWN: I think a lot of people are blowing it out of proportion. I think coach was just excited for us and was amped up like he said. Coach will talk about it and he’ll address the issue.
LC: Is that what they told you to say?
BROWN: No, I just got here.
LC: In a fight, which coach would win?
BROWN: You know, I’m always going to go with my coach. But I don’t think none of those guys wanted any part of that. In the heat of the battle, emotions catch the best of you and it happens.

Tarell,
As a Head Coach for the Mesquite Falcons when you were 9 years old it was my privilege to know you. I am so proud of all that you have accomplished and the example you have set for the young men and women here in the great City of Mesquite. It has been an honor to follow all that you have done in your career. It is even more of an honor to know that you play for my favorite NFL team. Please continue to give back to the community, as you have done for so many years. For 25 years I have been coaching here in Mesquite. I use you as an example of hard work and dedication to my football team in Mesquite Pee Wee Football every year. I tell that if you work hard and study hard you can go anywhere you choose to. Thumbs up to a GREAT MAN, who has not forgotten where he came from.
Thank you, for the privilege,
Mike Parmentier

Several sites are now saying that the 49ers will have seventh or eight pick in the draft.
Cardinals drive” Tarell Brown picks and goes 52 yards for a touchdown. Bartell threw the ball behind Roberts allowing Brown to score.
Cardinals drive: Three and out for the Cardinals. I’ve been focusing in on Bowman and he’s done a decent job, but he often seems to lose his balance, which isn’t good for a linebacker.
David White and I are trying to figure out the 49ers draft position. The best we can figure it fall somewhere between 4 and 7.
