MESQUITE, TEXAS – Tarell Brown, San Francisco 49ers cornerback and North Mesquite High School star alumnus, will host his 3rd Annual Summer Sportsfest June 25-26. The weekend kicks off with a celebrity basketball game on Friday, June 25 in the North Mesquite High School gymnasium. Brown invited a number of NFL stars to face-off on the hardwood. Aaron Ross of the New York Giants, Michael Griffin of the Tennessee Titans, Allen Rossum of the Dallas Cowboys, Arnaz Battle of the Pittsburgh Steelers and others will be in attendance. Proceeds from the game benefit the Born Again Foundation. Lucky raffle winners will receive autographed memorabilia from the San Francisco 49ers, and at the end of the game, a drawing will be held to see who goes home with a new flatscreen television.
The highlights of the Sportsfest weekend are the free football and cheerleading camps, on Saturday, June 26 at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. The camps are open to children in grades 2 though 8. Brown will be on site, aided by the coaches of North Mesquite to teach the basics and run drills with eager young athletes. There will be plenty of opportunities for autographs, photos, and all attendees will receive a tee shirt and free refreshments.
Since the beginning of his NFL career, it has been important to Brown to give back to, and remain active in the community that raised him.
